A Brief Bio About The Artist, the Wolf Lady
The Artist is one of seven children. Her family noticed her artistic abilities at a very early age. Her grandfather purchased newspaper roll ends, and color crayons encouraging her to create. Create she did, on walls, floors, paper, anything that would take to pen, pencil, paint or color crayons. [Her Dad called her Iodine that should tell you just what kind of kid she was.]
Wolfpainter was influenced by two women in her life, her Grandmother, and while attending boarding school in Seattle, a wondrous woman named Sister Ursula. They both challenged her creativity. Sr. Ursula nurtured her directing her to paint and draw with realism. On the inside cover of one high school annual someone wrote, "We'll see your work hanging at the museum." She laughed about it then and didn't (still doesn't) feel she had or has much talent at all… she just paints ‘em as she sees ‘em. You be the judge when you visit our Wolf Gallery.
Wolfpainter didn't pursue a career in art she went on to be an accountant. She continued to paint and draw and to use her creativity for family and friends to enjoy. From Arranging flowers, to(W-xyz) watercolors, she is a perfectionist.
Diagnosed as having MS in 1986 she found her legs having a mind of their own and her hands having difficulty holding paintbrushes and pens. She faced the challenges, as she had life's so many others, head-on, and was determined not to let MS slow her down.
Christmas of 1997 she created "Peace" for her family's Christmas card. The next year it was "Sing Praise". The year after, "Crystal Forest". With the wolf series we have inserted some of her other favorites we hope you will enjoy too.
Please be patient, although for publishing on this site we have reduced the colors from millions to hundreds and lowered the resolution there are some pictures that may take a bit longer to load. We're sure you'll enjoy them. There is a song you will hear with each painting. Most of the that page will contain the words to the song too. They are Wolfpainter’s favorites from Schubert to R Kelly they set the mood for each painting. You may wonder why the she chose wolves to create. A reoccurring dream. A wolf visiting her over and over until she painted him.
